CudaText Vs Synwrite - Additional Questions

from CudaText Vs Synwrite (Locked Thread) The plan is to continue Cuda. very limited support for Synw. Cuda support will be ok. i hope. I spend time on Cuda. not Synw. (Theme support with all UI in Synw? No. Theme support in Cuda? yes. it's done.) Alexy, I hope it's OK to continue with the other thr...

Hey, Alexey Sorry - I know this is an old thread but it seems incomplete. Ran into a bit of work a couple of years ago and stopped trying to learn SynWrite in favor of more familiar tools but now I'm playing with SynWrite again. While I was upgrading, I noticed CudaText. I read through this post and...

Found it! It was a bit subtle, though. The borders of the text box are difficult to see and it is positioned between the list and a blank area underneath the list. An unfortunate positioning - the eye tends to skip over it. You might want to move the text box to the top of the list and enhance the b...

I tried to create a style in the style tab but it doesn't let me change the name of the style - it just says "style 1". Do I have to change the name of the style somewhere else?

Can you explain to me what exactly is a token? Is it a type of language construct? Can I define different language constructs, such as variables, operators, logic syntax, etc as tokens?

What is the purpose of tokens? Is it to make parsing easier somehow?

I will. Unfortunately, I have to do it between jobs so I may not be able to post the info as fast as you like.

I'll make sure to take notes from the novice point-of-view and post them in logical blobs.

Alexey wrote:No tutorials... I thought about writing one, but stopped .. it's big (not too big) effort and little profit.
That's understandable. I'll figure it out, eventually. It'll just take more time than I wanted to spend but I think it may be worth the effort.

Ye, welcome Alexey, I had a chance to look over the Lexer help file and it's not helping. The problem is 2 fold, I think. First: the help file is talking over my head. I might begin to understand it if I create a lexer from scratch, put some code in the sample window and played around with it for a...
