I wondered why I was newly bothered with "Lexer style mapping" ; it seems the tolerance for unmapped items changed OR the default for "use style mapping" changed from NO to YES. Or, I may have mishandled some file while updating.

Do you talk about project's settings? I don't understand the request - where our projects have the default settings?
Each project has its own project settings.

This dialog auto shows (on changing the lexer) when file *.cuda-lexmap don't have all lexer styles listed and set.
Test it - when dialog shows, assign all styles, then file *.cuda-lexmap will be changed, compare file then with old text.
