I designed this logo for CudaText

@uvviewsoft
OK, great. Thanks to FTurtle for making that. I respect him for making the contribution. But it doesn't make sense for today. It seems like a compressor program icon.
If you don't like my design, it's fine. I can try with another design, no problem.
But the old icon has to go. It doesn't look ok.
The grey isn't right either. It's close in contrast to the orange color. When it is smaller and shown on taskbar etc., the orange isn't clearly distinguishable from the grey and looks fuzzy (at least to me).
That doesn't mean my designs are perfect either. My color combinations would need tweaking too to make it close to perfect for everyone's eyes. Design impacts functionality, productivity and mood. So having a good icon makes sense. That's why big companies invest a lot of their resources to find the perfect design, color and everything for their users. Not to mention that a logo is part of the UI/UX. If we have a new logo the color we choose in the logo will (hopefully?) go into UI/Code themes as well to keep in sync with the rest of the interface.
I'll try other designs and post here.
@Shovel Feedbacks are welcome. I'll try again to produce something better.
I haven't seen that logo when creating the design. Thanks for sharing. It is close, but it has different meaning and difference in thickness. For example, there are many icons that have pencils in them. They look similar but they are different in length, color etc. They are very similar, yet accepted because of these slight differences. But still, I'll try something different.
EDIT: added "I'll try..."

Sorry, didn't see the page 2 of the topic.

Thanks. Yes, I'll have to respect that at some point. But the current logo is not great. Any designer would say that. And that affects the users too (it affects me at least). That's why I've been wanting to make a change.
If I look at any other popular text editor icon and then CT's, it really doesn't make me feel ok.
@Shovel
But stylized for what? It doesn't look great. So what's the point? And stylizing to look like a compressor icon isn't good either.another thing, you wouldn't happen to have a general idea for a stylized text "Cu", to put on an icon?

I've designed another variation of the logo based on previous comments. Please let me know how you feel about it.
The logo has a shape for a C and another shape for T, both being initials of CudaText. The C shape is intentionally designed so that it resembles an angle bracket which is common for coding HTML websites and indicates a relationship of the logo with code.
The colors are not final. I'm just using something close to current color. Slight variations can also be done to shapes if you guys ask. I tried to upload SVG for sharing the source file of the above, but the format is not allowed. Here is a link to it. Feel free to try and edit it on Inkscape if you have some idea.
I've also tried some other shapes, but not sure if I should pick any:
EDIT: Think of these shapes as rough sketches. Not all are actually logos, just ideas. If you guys like any of them, I can then work to produce more options for us in addition to the above one.
Please let me know if you would like to see any one of them being worked on.
@miro.matas
Thanks a lot for trying it out. The logo looks great. It pops out from the other ones and looks clear and sharp.
I'm not sure about the above variation I made. I just made it and didn't get a chance to think about it. If you want to try this variation I have made a png of the above as a logo-only image.
EDIT: Added explanation about shapes.
