Hi Alexey. I've been testing the CudaExt and am unable to get the Hotkeys to work.
I am specifically trying to edit them. I literally only want the two Hotkeys for the selection of Next and Previous Tabs.
I installed CudaExt, edited the Install.inf to delete all Hotkeys and added "Ctrl+Left" and Ctrl+Right" to the Next/Previous entries, ie, sections named: [item197] and [item198] then restarted CT, but nothing changed. All previously deleted entries appear in the Plugin/CudaExt menu still, while the two additions I made, are empty and do not work.

I used the Plugins manager to delete the CudaExt plugin, then reinstalled WITHOUT Hotkeys, repeated adding the two entries to Next and Previous, ie, items 197 and 198, but again nothing worked.

It seems it matters not whether I install the plugin WITH or WITHOUT Hotkeys, it shows them in the menu. Does this choice just mean they are or are not active in CT?

How do I edit these? Thanks.

you customized hotkeys?
you do it wrong.

wrong: edit anything in the 'install.inf'.

correct: install the CudaExt (better press "OK without hotkeys" but it is not important, you may press "OK" too), call the Command Palette, focus needed command there, and press F9 there in the Cmd Palette.

this OK method is documented in the wiki!!!
please read the wiki's main topics.

>Hotkeys (keyboard shortcuts) config
> File settings/keys.json. Special dialog allows to change all hotkeys in CudaText. You should not edit this file directly, without using the dialog. Dialog is called from "View | Command palette" by pressing F9. Dialog allows to set primary+secondary hotkeys for any command (except dynamically added commands which, for example, change current lexer).

Ah ok. I tried removing and reinstalling the CudaExt. I reinstalled and clicked WITHOUT Hotkeys, yet the hotkeys are still working, I do not like having hotkeys as when accidentally pressed, can mess things up without you knowing what you've done! I've had this in windows a couple of times. So I prefer only to have hotkeys I have specific uses for, rather than programs decide for me.

Seems I need to read that wiki more! lol
I followed your instructions and that did the trick! Thanks. There's just so much to CT it's hard to know where to find the thing I need.

maybe it is ok idea to remove all predefined hotkeys from CudaExt install.inf. but Im afraid that the author (@kvichans) will be angry, he invented that plugin and hotkeys are ok for him.

I guess your once chosen 'OK (with hotkeys)' so hotkeys are left for you. they are not removed on CudaExt removing. you may edit your file 'settings/keys.json' and clean it.

That's the thing... It makes no difference whether you remove manually or how the plugin is installed, it ALWAYS has Hotkeys enabled and NEVER disabled. So the plugin is actually faulty in this respect. I literally cannot disable the Hotkeys, not matter what I do. But tbh, I only really need to use this plugin for this one situation, so I might uninstall after I perform the mass change required.
Thank you for your help. ;)

I don't confirm that CudaExt installs always with hotkeys. some of them are Ctrl+1 , Ctrl+2. I removed CudaExt, installed it, I got question "OK / OK without hotkeys", I chose "OK without hotkeys". now I DONT have Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2. hotkeys were not set.

I also checked settings/keys.json.

can you give exact steps on clean Cud, how to repeat the issue?

you can still remove them by editing settings/keys.json.

I have done it several times and each time, they both appear in the Plugins/CudaExt menu next to every item in the list that has a default Hotkey and also, they all work. It makes no difference to me whether I choose with or without hotkeys on installing the plugin.

Here's a gif showing me installing the plugin, which also shows the menu containing the hotkeys and also at the end, shows me switching between tabs using Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 with the mouse cursor not clicking anything, which should NOT be possible seeing as I installed the plugin without hotkeys:

It would be a good idea to make Hotkeys fully editable within the Options window. Maybe that's one of your todo's?
Will try a clean install when I get more time. ;)

To supress the issue with 50 hotkeys from CudaExt, I removed all CudaExt hotkeys from its package.
We won't see these 50 hotkeys.
These plugins still have the initial hotkeys if you want to repeat the issue on different plugin:

CudaExt_py35
Emmet Lite
Plain Tasks
Scratches
SQL Tools

Ok, I've done a quick test on a fresh install and found that installing the CudaExt plugin does NOT ask to install WITHOUT hotkeys. There are only two buttons: OK and Cancel.

So I clicked OK and installed the plugin and no hotkeys work. This is in complete opposition to what you are saying happens with your set up and mine.

Here's a gif:

At a guess, I would say there is a conflict of some sort between plugins.

EDIT: I just saw you replied, this must be the reason the option has disappeared? Thanks Alexey.
After following your instructions to add my own hotkeys, I have found it unnecessary to even install the CudaExt plugin anyway! Sorry for the runaround!
