Well, it doesn't look great. Just look at it besides other icons. Do you want your project icon to lag behind? Do you not want a good project that can compete with other ones? The experience starts with the icon. You can't ignore it. You can't add features, very good ones and have such a logo at the same time. It doesn't work that way.

Any designer would tell you that a change is necessary. Please listen to the users. The colors are not even right. The contrast between colors is not great, so it almost blends in both the colors. It doesn't look clean compared to other icons. Maybe when it was chosen it was good for that time, but it isn't now.

And the C-u combination looks old now. It used to be cool once, but isn't anymore. Ask any designer.

That's great progress. Thanks for the changes. It looks better for those changes.

But the C-u design is still there. It doesn't look nice. This style of placing letters this way is out of style now. I think a text editor with modern features, competing with other modern text editors should have a modern, simple logo to match.

Hi, I'm a professional graphic designer and I really appreciate your work. The logo I like most of all is the first one in this thread. Thanks. ;)

adnan360 wrote: Although it looks cool I don't think it looks professional. No logos I've seen uses this technique anymore. Also if we look at other logos they're getting simpler and the typefaces being used on logos are getting simpler (even though I like the font myself). These stylized typefaces are not being used anymore.
Designers are usually wicked, mentally deranged people and many programmers aren't much different. Servants of evil perpetuating the wickedness they have received upon themselves.

'Modern' logos tend to be an exceedingly simple symbol intended to captivate the maximum possible number of souls. Symbols dumbed down to the maximum extent possible, to the lowest common denominator of intelligence: from brutes recently taken into civilization, to children in their early childhood to mentally impaired individuals to the average man to above-average ones. Upon glancing at them, no processing at all has to be done in one's mind. Made to become extensions of the mind itself. Requiring zero effort to remember, recognize, associate. Millions and millions of souls held captive to their evil Master. You people are doing the Evil One's work, willingly or not. You have been cursed with these ideas of 'modern', 'minimal', 'simple', 'flat'. Producing dull, soulless, empty, flat, lifeless, "art" whose sole reason for existence is mindless mass production and consumption. Your "art" is obscene. Your art reflects the state of your own soul. Gray, flat, square, linear, without depth, over-simplified, colorless and dull, empty. Not unlike contemporary architecture. The "art" you produce is but a manipulation tool. Pragmatic utilitarian objectification of creative products. It is the Enemy's work.

I like CudaText's icon. Thanks uvviewsoft. :D
