When clicking the statusbar cell "-", Cudatext will toggle to "||", and mouse selection will perform column selection. Clicking again on the same cell will toggle to normal selection. Switching between column and normal selection mode is not possible using a command in the Selection menu. However, adding a command for this option in the Selection menu would be useful if the Cudatext window is positioned so that the status bar is not visible on the display.

Indeed, the command palette is a possible workaround for this issue. Nevertheless, I think it would be useful to have a command in the Selection menu.
