Read-only Checkbox in File Open Dialog

Title. The default value is unchecked. A user.json field could alter the default to read-only. In certain work scenarios one reviews files with no intention of changing them. Setting the default to read-only then avoids human error.
I also suggest a more distinctive read-only indicator. It should appear on the file tab, left of the file icon, in subtle red maybe. Any other way to indicate RO is fine if it jumps out when one glances at the tab pane. Association with the tab pane is the key idea. The RO mnemonic in the status bar needs more help.
Thanks!

on Win10 I don't see 'read-only' checkbox in the file-open dlg, so if you see it, it might be widgets-specific, OS specific. code is not using this checkbox at all. so idea is not ok.
RO indicator in the tab title: give me examples how other apps show RO in the tab titles. i guess none do it. I don't want to make tab-titles changes: it may break smthg easily, when icons or 'pinned' mark '!' shows there.

LCL has option "ofHideReadonly" for open dlg, I just now set it, checkbox will hide.

I do not see one; I was proposing to add a checkbox. I use CudaText 1.231.8.0, linux-x86_64-gtk2, fpc 3.2.3.
I would at least change the font style of the "RO" indicator to red extra bold, if not use an icon instead. What is LCL?

ah, you don't see R/O checkbox and propose to add it. but it can be added only on older Windows (pre Vista) as I know. other widgetsets don't have R/O checkbox in the file-dialog.
LCL is lazarus component library.
