Moving the spell checker outside SynWrite is a big step backwards in my humble opinion.
First of all highlighting as you type is now not very reliable now, not immediate and refreshes the whole document to reflect misspelled words.
Also right-clicking on a misspelled word does not offer for the list of potentially correct words to select. You need to constantly point to the Plugin menu option to call for suggestions and even in that case this jumps to the first misspelled word, you need to sequentially skip pass all misspelled words to reach the desirable one. This is totally unproductive and time consuming since a document might not contain purely text and be too long.
Please bring back the integrated spelling feature or if have to maintain it as a plugin at least keep the past reliable functionality.
Thank you.
Spell checker as a plugin. A step backwards.
Thanks a lot Alexey. No rush, for the time being I have reverted back to build 2218.
Maybe a "workaround" could be to keep the feature built-in and port outside as plug-ins the download of dictionaries and additional spelling languages.
In this way we keep both the reliable present functionality and at the same time keep Synwrite size down.

I'm not sure what "check word" is suppose to do. It just highlights a misspelled word. And then what?Alexey wrote:upd. Plugin: 2 new commds: check word/ check word with menu of suggest. Pls, see/test it?
I still don't see the context menu with suggestions which negates the initial proposition to maintain the old functionality.
I find it still cumbersome to have to navigate via multiple menus.
In parallel we have lost the icon to activate/deactivate spell-checking. I was using that frequently.
Sorry but I'm staying with built 2218.
check-word: I updated plugin 2 times. (at that day). This cmd does check of current word. Cmd "Check word with suggestions" also exists.
2 cmds added: check-word, check-word with suggestions.
.. lost the icon to activate/deactivate
Pls add it by dialog "Customuze toolbar, 1/2/3" in SW
Pls add hotkey for check-word

Well, this proposal does not provide the old functionality.Alexey wrote:check-word: I updated plugin 2 times. (at that day). This cmd does check of current word. Cmd "Check word with suggestions" also exists.

'Enable live spelling (red underlines)' isn't possible anymore neither the ability to get word suggestions by right-click context menu.

Since we have to impose a spelling plug-in now instead of the integrated functionality, the above mentioned spelling sub-features should be introduced to the plug-in this time.
Enable live spelling- this not possible, sorry but plugin check is slow so live check is not done.
you may try to edit plugin code.

I'll stick to the old version. Thank you anyway.
