Q: Columnar paste possible?

Is it possible to paste a column of text there with current CudaText?

Yes, copy/paste of column blocks is supported, I tried it now and it works.

Sorry, my mistake with mouse selection adding an extra line (and Cuda thought I wanted to paste after every single line of the old column, the new column). I can confirm it works fine selecting the column to be pasted in the correct way.
